A chemically selective laser ion source based on resonance ionization
of atoms in a hot cavity has been applied in the study of
Mn-isotopes at the CERN-ISOLDE mass separator.
Laser ionization enhanced the Mn-yields by more than a factor of 1000
when compared to surface ionization.
First results on γ-spectroscopic measurements in the mass
range A=47 to 63 will be presented.
