Within the Continuum RPA (Random Phase Approximation) and simpler models we calculated cross sections for inelastic neutrino scattering on nuclei above the particle emission threshold. Subsequent decays were described using a statistical model code.
These results were applied to Astrophysics to estimate the effect of the so called “ν”-nucleosynthesis and to study the neutrino induced transmutation of r-process nuclei in Supernovae.
We also investigated the prospects of neutrino nucleus scattering experiments at the European Spallation Source.
