Vlasov Simulations for Highly Excited Nuclei — •R. Walke, K. Morawetz, and G. Röpke — AG Quantentheorie und Vielteilchensysteme, FB Physik Universität Rostock, Universitätsplatz 3, D-18051 Rostock
Highly excited nuclei are produced due to collisions of heavy ions. As a description of such nuclei we solve a non–relativistic Vlasov equation using a 3D–pseudoparticle–simulation with simple Skyrme–Forces.
Especialy for charge asymmetric entrance channels we expect a shift to lower energies of the Giant Dipol Resonance (GDR) strength and a clear angular anisotropy [1]. In order to investigate such signatures of this new collective mode we extract observables like multipole moments from the simulation calculations. The question of overdamped modes is investigated. The contribution of escaping particles to the width is derived.
