Collective excitations in hot nuclear matter — •U. Fuhrmann, K. Morawetz, and G. Roepke — AG Quantentheorie und Vielteilchensysteme, FB Physik, Universitaet Rostock, Universitaetsplatz 3, D-18051 Rostock
Collective excitations in hot nuclear matter are investigated. The Giant dipole resonance (GDR) is described using the dielectric function (DF) in random phase approximation (RPA). Analytical continuation of the DF into the lower energy half plane allows us to compute the frequencies and damping rates of GDR. With an extended appproach using a conserving relaxation time approximaion to include collision effects, different contributions to the damping of GDR in 108−112Sn und 208Pb will be discussed and compared with recent experimental data.
