Theoretical Model Simulations of the FOBOS Experiments* — •R. Yanez1, H.-G. Ortlepp1,2, C.-M. Herbach1, and T. Moehlenkamp1 — 1Research Centre Rossendorf Inc., Institute of Nuclear and Hadronic Physics, PF 510119, D-01314 Dresden — 2Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, 141980 Dubna, Russia
We have performed numerical simulations of the reactions recently measured
in the FOBOS detector at Dubna. The initial stages of the reactions are
simulated with the Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck equation and the later stages,
when thermal equilibrium is reached, with a statistical evaporation code.
The BUU in-medium nucleon-nucleon cross section is reduced in order to
reproduce the experimental data and the statistical evaporation code is
modified to include in a simple parametrized way the transient time for
fission (in which the nuclear viscosity β is a parameter), and temperature
dependent level density parameters. In this way the necessary theoretical
input parameters for the selection of different sources of light charged
particles can be established for the measured data.
