Quasifree eta photoproduction on the deuteron in the S11(1535) region — •Alexander Fix — Institut f"ur Kernphysik, Johannes Gutenberg-Universit"at Mainz, D-55099 Mainz
Incoherent η-photoproduction on the deuteron in the region of S11(1535)-resonance has been studied. The calculation includes η-rescattering and η-production through the two-step γ N→π N →η N process. The η-rescattering effect is important near threshold but leads to only 5% reduction of total cross-section in the resonance peak. The contribution of η-production through the π N-rescattering mechanism is negligible. In comparing the calculated total cross-section with experimental data (Mainz 1995) the ratio of neutron and proton cross-sections σn/σp=0.8 is obtained.
