A two dimensional network consisting of thin tellurium fibers is fabricated by physical vapor evaporation of tellurium onto an oriented substrate of poly(1-butene). The oriented substrate is grown by the spinning technique. The orientation is transferred to the deposit resulting in a preferred orientation of the fibers. Percolative behaviour has been studied by measuring the I-V curve during the evaporation (in-situ). The curves have been fitted in order to estimate values for both conductivity exponents in the parallel and in the perpendicular direction, respectively. Both exponents decrease during the growth of the deposit, but finally they seem to saturate at values of 1.5 and 1.2, respectively. The dependence of the critical exponent from the thickness will be discussed in terms of percolation theory under the assumption of changing local resistance.
