Network model and spin splitting at high magnetic fields — •V. Kagalovsky1, B. Horovitz2, and Y. Avishai21Max-Planck-Institut für Kernphysik, Postfach 10 39 80, D-69029 Heidelberg — 2Department of Physics, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, P.O. Box 653, 84105 Beer-Sheva Israel

We study dynamics of electrons in a magnetic field using a network model with two spin states per link with random mixing in a random intrachannel potential [1]. We predict that spin splitting is larger than expected for small fields (level repulsion) and is smaller than expected for large fields (level attraction) [2]. In fact, we claim that level attraction accounts for ESR data [3] which shows a nonlinear dependence of the spin splitting on B. In particular the data for N=0 in the range 8−14T is visibly nonlinear in the range 8−12T.
