NEXAFS and UPS Studies of Thin Films, Surfaces, and Interfaces of Functional Organic Materials — •Kazuhiko Seki — Dept. of Chemistry, Graduate School of Science, Nagoya University, Furocho, Chikusa-ku, Nagoya 464-01, Japan

Recently much attention has been paid to thin films and interfaces of functional organic materials. It is an interdisciplinary field where various techniques of surface science meets organic solid state science. In this talk, we will report our recent effort for clarifying the geometrical and electronic structures of organic thin films and interfaces mainly using NEXAFS and UPS, supported by other techniques such as XPS, SHG, IRAS, and Penning ionization electron spectroscopy (PIES).
