Hadrons in Dense Matter - Observables — •Ulrich Mosel — Universität Gießen
QCD based predictions of marked changes of the properties of hadrons in dense nuclear matter have recently found widespread interest. In this talk I will discuss the predictive power of the QCD-related approaches and examine their relationship to ’classical’ hadronic interaction scenarios for mesons and baryons. I will then discuss at length the observable consequences of all these model predictions, with particular emphasis on the physics program with the new detector system HADES with heavy-ions and the new pion beam facility at GSI. In addition, crucial photonuclear experiments will be mentioned.
