Observation of the fJ(1710) in pp → K+K−π0 in flight. — •M. Ratajczak and Die Crystal Barrel Kollaboration — Institut f"ur Experimentalphysik I, Ruhr-Universit"at Bochum, Universit"atsstra"se 150, D-44780 Bochum
In September 1995 about 60 Mio events of the antiproton-proton annihilation
with an incident beam momentum
pp = 1.94 GeV/c were detected and
recorded by the Crystal Barrel experiment (CERN). Out of these a data sample
of 4290 events with the final state K+K−π0 is extracted.
Apart
from well known mesons a resonance decaying into K+K− with mass about
1700 MeV/c2 is obviously needed to describe the data.
A spin parity analysis rules out odd spin. An observation of the
fJ(1710) is plausible. Details will be shown.
These experimental facts give hints for the assignment of resonances to the
meson nonetts and for the interpretation of spare candidates as glueballs
or hybrids.
