We study contributions to the nucleon’s strange vector form factors arising from fluctuations into strangeness-carrying intermediate states with masses beyond the K−Λ pair. To this end we both extend previous K−Λ loop calculations to include the K* vector meson, and alternatively calculate K*-intermediate-state contributions dispersively. The K* contributions to both leading moments of the vector form factors, i.e. to the strangeness radius ⟨ rs2 ⟩ and the strange magnetic moment µs, turn out to be surprisingly large.
