Flux Tubes in the Chirally Symmetric Friedberg-Lee Model — •Christoph Traxler, Carsten Greiner, and Ulrich Mosel — Institut für Theoretische Physik, Universität Giessen

We study the classical Friedberg-Lee Model [1] as well as a chirally symmetric extension of it in a 3d computer simulation. The color field equations are solved on an adaptive mesh [2] by the hierarchical multigrid method [3], while the scalar fields are propagated on a lattice. Quarks are treated as classical charge distributions to circumvent problems inherent in a transport theoretical approach [4]. Results for color flux tube configurations are shown, and possible consequences of a chiral symmetry on flux tube decay are discussed.
