Beyond s-wave coupling in non-perturbative SU(3) chiral dynamics — •José Caro, Norbert Kaiser, Thomas Waas, and Wolfram Weise — Technische Universität München, Physik Department T39
The role of p-wave couplings in the low energy scattering of a meson (from
the pseudo-scalar octet) and a baryon (from the octet) is studied within a
chiral Lagrangian formalism combined with coupled-channel techniques. The pure
p-wave terms in the Lagrangian are considered both in Born approximation and
non-perturbatively. Calculations are performed at second order in the chiral
counting. The range-dependence of the regularized propagators in the
coupled-channel scheme is discussed. The properties of the lightest p-wave
resonances are analyzed in this context. The whole formalism is applied to eta
and kaon photoproduction off nucleons.
