Nucleon-Nucleon Correlations and Two-Particle Knockout — •D. Kn"odler, H. M"uther, and M. Heim — Universit"at T"ubingen, Institut f"ur Theoretische Physik, Auf der Morgenstelle 14, 72076 T"ubingen
In the framework of the photoinduced two-nucleon knockout, correlations in the nuclear wavefunction are investigated which arise from the short-range and tensor components of realistic nucleon-nucleon potentials. Going beyond a simple shell-model or Hartree-Fock description, these correlations are explored in current experiments at MAMI (Mainz). The description of the (e,e′ 2N) reaction requires a consistent treatment of nucleon-nucleon correlations in the ground state, meson exchange currrent corrections and the final state interaction of the outgoing nucleons. Our calculations are performed within different kinematical settings to discriminate between these various contributions. In addition, we consider real as well as virtual photons. We will present results which are obtained from a local density approximation based on calculations for nuclear matter and will compare them to investigations for finite nuclei (16O).
