The NA49 experiment has studied momentum distributions of hadrons in Pb-Pb collisions at 158 GeV/nucleon using 4 large volume Time Projection Chambers (TPCs). Eventwise identification of charged particles is achieved by energy loss measurements in the TPCs. We report on the azimuthal anisotropies found in the emission of protons and charged pions. Both particle species exhibit clear signatures of directed and elliptic flow. The magnitude of the flow components depends on the rapidity and the transverse momentum. The results are complemented by an analysis of anisotropies in the transverse energy production near midrapidity measured with a cylindrical ring calorimeter.
