Creation and signatures of superdense baryonic matter — •H. Weber, S.A. Bass, H. Stöcker, and W. Greiner — Institut für Theoretische Physik, J.W. Goethe Universität Frankfurt am Main
The creation of superdense baryonic matter is of great importance for investigating a wide variety of physical phenomena, such as the restoration of chiral symmetry and and the phase-transition to the quark gluon plasma. We present an excitation function for Au+Au collisions between 1 and 100 GeV/u beam energy. For our calculations we use UrQMD, a novel transport model incorporating features of an ultra-relativistic cascade and molecular dynamics. Different experimentally accessible observables such as the eta- and omega-production will be discussed. Finally we examine whether the study of kaon and antikaon-production at equivalent beam energies is a good probe for in-medium effects.
