The structure of 72Kr has been investigated at GASP through the
40Ca(40Ca,2α) reaction at a beam energy of 160 MeV
using the channel selection of the ISIS Si-Ball [1]. The level scheme was
extended up to 8.5 MeV and spin (16+). Spins and parities of the
observed levels are assigned tentatively. The four quasi-particle
g9/22 alignment is found to be delayed in rotational frequency.
Such a delay contradicts the predictions of certain mean-field calculations.
It may reflect either additional correlations in the T=0 pairing channel
and/or coupling to vibrational degrees of freedom.
