High spin states of the nuclei 88Y and 87Sr have been studied via the reactions 80Se(11B,3n) and 80Se(11B,p3n), respectively. The coincidence experiment was carried out with a 45 MeV beam delivered by the FN Tandem accelerator of the University of Cologne. γ-γ coincidences were measured using the Cologne detector array OSIRIS CUBE.The level schemes have been extended up to an energy of E ≈ 8 MeV. Spins and multipole mixing ratios were derived from directional correlations of coincident gamma rays (DCO) . The structure of these nuclei is discussed and compared with neighbouring N=49 nuclei.
