Supersymmetry between Deep and Shallow Coupled-Channel Nucleon-Nucleon Potentials — •Jean-Marc Sparenberg and Daniel Baye — Physique Nucléaire Théorique et Physique Mathématique, CP 229, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Campus Plaine, B-1050 Bruxelles
The nucleon-nucleon elastic scattering data can be well reproduced by two very different potential families: conventional shallow potentials, which display only the deuteron bound state, and deep potentials [1], which have additional nonphysical bound states simulating the underlying quark structure. Starting from a deep potential, a supersymmetric pair allows the removal of the nonphysical states while keeping the scattering matrix unchanged. The obtained potential can then be compared to shallow potentials. This method has been recently generalized to the coupled-channel case [2], which allows us to treat the 3S1−3D1 channel of the nucleon- nucleon interaction. In this case, the deep potential displays the physical deuteron bound state and one nonphysical state. Its supersymmetric partner has only the deuteron bound state and presents an r−2 singularity at the origin, close to the repulsive core of conventional shallow potentials.
