Flow effects in intermediate energy heavy ion collisions — •Alexander Hombach, Wolfgang Cassing, Pradip K. Sahu, and Ulrich Mosel — Institut für Theoretische Physik, Universität Giessen

We investigate the effects of both the nuclear mean field and the nucleon-nucleon collisions on the flow of nucleons and intermediate mass fragments in heavy ion collisions. Therefore we simulate the reaction with a transport model of the Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck type. This model incorporates nucleons and resonances with masses up to 1.95 GeV/c2 as well as π, η ,ρ and σ mesons. The influence of different parametrizations of the nucleon optical potential and the cross sections on the flow, both radial and transversal, is discussed in detail. Comparison with experimental data give strong limitations to the theoretical model input.
