The structures of the Δ−N−π and N−N−π vertices are addressed, where the initial particles (the Δ or the nucleon) are off-shell. The dependence of these vertices on the invariant mass of the initial particle is described by half-off-shell form factors. A self-consistent microscopic model for the form factors is presented based on the use of sidewise dispersion relations. This guarantees that causality relations are satisfied. A similar formalism is also applied to photon-nucleon vertices.
Results for nucleonic and Δ-isobar form factors are presented.
