The interference between parametric X-Rays (PXR) and coherent bremsstrahlung (CB) was investigated theoretically and experimentally at the S-DALINAC. PXR was generated using the electron beam of the S-DALINAC at energies of 3.0, 3.5, 7.4 and 8.3 MeV at Si and Diamond crystals and observed at an angle of 45∘ by means of a Si(Li) detector. Both types of radiation originate from the interaction between a relativistic electron with crystal atoms. They have the same energy, are coherent to each other but have different angular distributions. Choosing the experimental conditions in such a way that angular distributions of both types of radiation overlap, interference may occur. Depending on the experimental conditions the interference can be constructive or destructive. The comparison of the experimental angular distributions with the theoretical predictions yields good agreement.
