Deep-inelastic Scattering on Internal (Nuclear) Targets at HERMES — •G van der Steenhoven — Amsterdam
Deep-inelastic scattering data on various targets are being collected at HERMES (DESY). The data are used to perform a flavour decomposition of the nucleon spin. At the same time the hadronic final state is being analyzed yielding novel data on the attenuation of hadrons produced in deep-inelastic scattering. Apart from the presentation of some of the preliminary results, attention will be given to some of the upgrade projects that will improve the capabilities of HERMES as a probe of the spin structure of the nucleon.
