Charge Asymmetries of Charm Hadrons and Total Charm Production in Σ - Nucleus Interactions at 340 GeV/c [1] — •O. Thilmann — Physikalisches Institut der Universit"at Heidelberg, Philosophenweg 12, 69120 Heidelberg

The experiment WA89 has studied charmed particle production in Σ - nucleus collisions at 340 GeV/c. Production of particles which have light quarks in common with the beam (D, Ds, Λc) are compared to production of those which have not (D+, Ds+, Λ_c). Considerable production asymmetries between the charge conjugate pairs have been observed. The xf distributions will be compared with pion beam data and with theoretical predictions.
In addition, the total charm/anticharm cross section was determined in the range xf > 0. The results will be compared to cross sections measured in proton - nucleus collisions.
