The decay of the triaxial superdeformed band in 163Lu (W. Schmitz
et al., Phys. Lett. B 303, 230 (1993)) was investigated using the
Euroball spectrometer array. High-spin states were populated in the
reaction 139La(29Si,5n)163Lu at 145 MeV at the tandem XTU
accelerator of the INFN Legnaro. Coincidence relationships and DCO
ratios are determined for the linking transitions. From these data a
spin assignment is derived for the band which confirms the previously
suggested N = 6 proton configuration.
