Coherent bremsstrahlung can be produced by high-energy electrons when a diamond crystal is used as production target. First experiments have been carried out at SAPHIR using the standard-type G"ottingen goniometer and the new tagger TOPAS II. Intensity patterns are used to orient the diamond crystal in situ. The measured intensity spectrum is compared with calculations and good agreement is obtained when a divergence of the electron beam of σ = 0,8 mrad is adopted. The maximum degree of linear polarisation was found to be P = 35 % .
