Beam polarimetry at the A2-Collaboration in Mainz — •I. Preobrajenski1 and GDH– and A2 2 — 1Institut für Kernphysik, Universität Mainz, Becherweg 45, 55099 Mainz — 2
In order to measure and monitor the degree of circular beam polarization for experiments with real photons at MAMI a Møller and a Compton polarimeter are used in a complementary way. The Compton polarimeter is used to check and optimize the polarization at the beginning of a data taking period, the Møller polarimeter serves as a continuous online instrument during the whole experiment. Typical results obtained with a polarized electron beam from a strained GaAs crystal are presented.
