Shape fluctuations and chaotic scattering in finite nuclei — •M. Vogt, K. Morawetz, U. Fuhrmann, and R. Walke — Fachbereich Physik, Universität Rostock, Universitätsplatz 3, D-18051 Rostock

The deformation of finite nuclei are considered with respect to the influence on collective modes. We have claculated the Lyapunov- exponent for various quadrupole and octupole deformations. This is compared with the Lyapunov exponent arising from many particle collisions. A response function is calculated which is appropriate for finite nucleous.
