The nucleon spin polarizibility at finite Q2 — •Jochen Edelmann, Norbert Kaiser, Gunther Piller, and Wolfram Weise — Technische Universität München
Upcoming experiments at TJNAF will provide the first data on polarized virtual photon-nucleon cross sections. These cross sections are related to the nucleon spin polarizibilty γ(Q2) via a sum rule. We investigate the Q2-dependence of γ(Q2) in chiral perturbation theory with inclusion of the Δ-isobar. At small Q2 the spin polarizibility is dominated by the excitation of the Δ-resonance. In addition, pion loop processes play an important role. The results can be interpreted in terms of para- and diamagnetic contributions.
