We report on results of photon scattering experiments performed at the superconducting Darmstadt electron accelerator S-DALINAC. Excitation strengths and fragmentation of the dipole response in stable even-mass Pb isotopes are presented for energies up to 6.5 MeV. We discuss the results with respect to previous experiments (see e.g. [1]) as well as Quasiparticle-Phonon model calculations. Furthermore, experimental limits for the excitation strength of the 2+ member of the two-octupole-phonon quadruplet in 208Pb are given, which has recently been proposed to be accessible by nuclear resonance fluorescence experiments [2].
