The evaluation of γ-γ coincidences gathered from 20 germanium detectors of NORDBALL in coincidence with either a silicon detector or a multi-PIN-diode detector using 32S (148 MeV) and 58Ni (260 MeV) beams gives new insight in the the structure of 231Pa located near the boundary of octupole deformation. Additionally to the 1/2[530] 3/2− g.s. rotational band the 3/2[651] band is observed up to 33/2+. New calculations of the depopulation process following Coulomb excitation and of the structure using the quasiparticle-phonon-model complement the previous work [1].
