A number of nucleon–nucleon bremsstrahlung measurements below the particle-production threshold has been performed at KVI,Groningen. The goal is to provide a complete and high–accuracy measurement of cross sections and analyzing powers of the production of high-energy photons in the most fundamental processes. These are pp and pn scattering where the latter case is extracted from pd scattering–measurements. This contribution focuses on d(p,γ)3He radiative capture as this process represents one of the important channels in pd bremsstrahlung.
The experimental setups used included the proton detection system SALAD coupled to the segmented γ-ray detection system TAPS. Photons from radiative capture are recognized in γ singles spectra as Eγ is fixed kinematically. Coincident 3He detection is strongly limited by the opening angle of SALAD. Inclusive and coincidence cross sections and analyzing powers for both experimental configurations will be presented and compared to calculations.
