Contribution of qq–pairs to the structure of hadrons* — •Andreas Groh and Hartmut M. Hofmann — Institut für Theoretische Physik III, Universität Erlangen–Nürnberg
Usually, quark models need in addition to the gluon exchange also the exchange of mesons between quarks to get a qualitatively correct interaction of hadrons. This results in so called hybrid models. In spite of the meson exchange we extended the nonrelativistic quark model with the creation and annihilation of qq–pairs.
The spectra of baryons and mesons were calculated in this model. The additional qq–pairs were found to give considerable contributions to the hadronic wavefunctions. By this it became possible to describe both baryons and mesons consistently by using only one common set of parameters which solves a known problem of the conventional quark models. The results of these calculation will be presented.
Furthermore, the implications on the hadron–hadron–interactions will be discussed. Special emphasis is laid on the N–N–interaction where the correlated excitation of qq–pairs is studied as an alternative to the usual meson–exchange between quarks.
