Explosive Stellar Events studied with Low-Energy Radioactive Nuclear Beams — •J. Vervier — Institut de Physique Nucléaire, Université catholique de Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium
During explosive stellar events, like type-II supernovae, novae and X-ray bursts, nuclear reactions involving radioactive nuclei in their entrance channel often play a crucial role. Their cross sections can be directly measured using low-energy (0.1 - 1 MeV/A) Radioactive Nuclear Beams (RNB) produced by the ISOL method. The results obtained in this field during the past 7 years with the Louvain-la-Neuve RNB facility, their astrophysical implications and the future perspectives of the field will be reviewed.
