We performed an experiment at CYCLONE in Louvain-la-Neuve to search for elastic transfer of the 2n-cluster in the elastic scattering of 6He on 4He in inverse kinematics. A gas target of 1 cm thickness containing 4He at 500 mbar pressure was bombarded by a 40-MeV 6He++ beam of 105 pps. The reaction products were registered in several arrays of Segmented Silicon Strip Detectors covering the laboratory angles between 23 and 70 degrees and between 6 and 15 degrees. The α(6He,6He)α elastic cross section was extracted in the angular range between 60 and 127 degrees in the center of mass from coincidence events. These data are now analyzed using the double folding potential suggested by Baye [1], based on a microscopical three-cluster model which is used to calculate the matter distribution of 6He. Preliminary results show that such a model can successfully reproduce the data.
