Search for SUSY particles at HERA using the ZEUS detector — •M. Milite — DESY, Notkestra"se 85, 22607
Most phenomenological studies of supersymmetric signals at high energy
colliders implicitly assume that the messengers of SUSY breaking
are gravitational strength interactions. The SUSY breaking scale in
some hidden sector is then necessarily of order of 1011 GeV.
It is possible however that the messenger
scale for transmitting SUSY breaking to the visible sector is anywhere
between the Planck scale and just above the electro-weak scale. In this case,
the gravitino (G) is the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP),
and the lightest standard model superpartner (usually χ 10) is the
next to lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP). The χ 10 is then
unstable and, if R-parity is conserved,
decays to its partner plus the gravitino. For SUSY breaking
scales below a few 1000 TeV this decay can take place within a detector.
This leads to very distinctive features for low scale SUSY breaking,
including displaced photons. Moreover, interest on SUSY models with
a light gravitino has recently surged because of their ability to explain
naturally the puzzling e+e−γ γ + EmissT event
observed by the CDF Collaboration (FNAL).
This talk will mainly focus on the
experimental signature (γ + PmissingT) of the possible
associated production of neutralino-gravitino in high energy e p
interactions.
