The Colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) of doped La-manganite thin
films near their Curie temperature is an intrinsic property of the
magnetic material and can be separated from the grain boundary
magnetoresistance (GBMR) which increases with decreasing
temperature. The GBMR is of special interest because its high field
sensitivity at H of order the coercive field. We have measured the
magnetoresistance of sputtered films on single crystal and bicrystal
substrates at different temperatures and magnetic fields. The GBMR
depends on deposition conditions, grain boundary quality and angle,
and the results are discussed in the frame of different models.
