Spatio-temporal dynamics near the Turing-Hopf point of the Oregonator model — •A. Maier and H. Engel —
Institut für Theoretische Physik, Technische Universität Berlin, Hardenbergstraße 36, D-10623 Berlin
By numerically integrating the Oregonator equations in one and two spatial dimensions for parameters near the Turing-Hopf point we find a variety of spatio-temporal patterns. These are compared to the predictions of a generic bifurcation analysis in the framework of the amplitude equation formalism. The interaction between Turing and Hopf modes gives rise to bistability, coexisting Turing and Hopf domains, mixed mode structures and subharmonic instabilities.
