On the gravitational moments of the Dirac electron — •Friedrich W. Hehl — Institute for Theoretical Physics, University, D-50923 Köln, Germany
In analogy to the magnetic moment in electrodynamics, we define gravitational moments connected with the translation and the Lorentz groups, respectively. To this end, we perform a Gordon decomposition of the Lagrangian and of the energy–momentum and spin currents of spin one–half particles. In the non–relativistic limit, the translational gravitational moment becomes proportional to spin and is structure independent. In contrast, the Lorentz gravitational moment is structure dependent. We show that both types of gravitational moments couple to the acceleration and the angular velocity of a non–inertial observer and are thus measurable in principle. We determine the respective g–factors. We also investigate the gravitational moments in spacetimes with curvature and torsion.
