Cosmological Sphalerons and Black Holes — •Günter Gerdes, Abha Sood, Jutta Kunz, and Burkhard Kleihaus — Fachbereich Physik, Universität Oldenburg, Postfach 2503, D-26111 Oldenburg, Germany

We present sphaleron and black hole solutions in SU(3) Einstein-Yang-Mills theory with a cosmological constant. The static spherically symmetric solutions are obtained in Schwarzschild-like coordinates for the metric. The purely magnetic ansatz for the gauge field is based on the 2-dimensional embedding of su(2) in su(3), and contains two gauge field functions, u1 and u2. The solutions possess a cosmological horizon. We first consider magnetically neutral solutions with a regular origin and the corresponding black hole solutions with a regular event horizon. These neutral solutions are characterized by the node numbers (n1,n2) of the gauge field functions. The solutions form sequences (j,n+j). With increasing node number n, for each j, a limiting cosmological solution is approached. We then examine these magnetically charged limiting solutions. We consider only small values of the cosmological constant, below a critical value, where the nature of the solutions changes.
