Bloch oscillations and dc magnetotransport in biased superlattices in a strong magnetic field — •Yu. A. Kosevich — Max-Planck-Institut f"ur Physik Komplexer Systeme, D-01187 Dresden
A new complex dynamical equation for electron drift velocity in biased semiconductor superlattice in external magnetic field is proposed. It describes the miniband electron magnetodynamics in biased superlattices and accounts for Bloch oscillations and temporal transition to dc transport. Diamagnetic shift of the frequency of Bloch oscillations in a strong magnetic field parallel to the layers is predicted within the proposed effective-medium approach. Analytic expression for dc magnetoconductivity in parallel magnetic field is derived. It has the form of the Esaki-Tsu formula for nonlinear dc conductivity in biased superlattice with the Drude-like renormalization of the scattering rate in the magnetic field and describes the change from the negative to high positive magnetoconductivity in the superlattice, caused by the combined action of the crossed magnetic and electric fields.
