Wavefront sets in algebraic quantum field theory — •R. Verch — Inst. f. Theoretische Physik, Universität Göttingen

The notion of wavefront set of a distribution, a concept from microlocal analysis to obtain local information about singularities of distributions, has in the past few years proved very valuable for a better understanding of quantum field theory on curved spacetimes. In its original form, the notion of wavefront set applies only to n-point distributions of quantum fields. We present a generalization which can be used in local quantum field theory in operator algebraic formulation.
