We report on recent angle-resolved photoemission measurements at cleaved
HgTe(110) using HeIα and synchrotron radiation.
In addition to our
contribution in the last year we present here the valence band structure of
the whole bulk Brillouin zone in ΓΣKX direction taken with
photon energies between 20 and 120 eV. Several experimental geometries were
utilized in order to detect polarization effects of the bands with respect to
the incoming light.
Furthermore, we took spectra along the the high symmetry lines of
the surface Brillouin zone. So we present the experimental surface band structure of
HgTe(110) along the lines Γ X, Γ X′
and XMX′
The results will be compared to theoretical predictions, particularly the
zero gap behaviour of HgTe, as well as to experimental data
of CdTe.
