We have estimated the branching ratios for the decay and production of QQg hybrid mesons in antinucleon-nucleon annihilation, using a microscopic model with constituent quarks Q and gluons g. We focus on the isovector hybrid with quantum numbers J^PC=1⁻⁺ and discuss a possible hybrid interpretation of the exotic meson resonance recently observed by Crystal Barrel in p n annihilation reactions.
