90Zr is a half magic nucleus with the neutron number N=50. The heavier Zr isotopes are likely to exhibit strong neutron single particle characteristics which can be probed best by magnetic moment measurements. In former measurements g-factors were determined for the first 2+ state of 92,94Zr with poor accuracy using the conventional transient field (TF) technique [1]. In the present measurements performed at the tandem accelerator of Yale University Coulomb exitation of 300 MeV 92Zr beams on a Si target was combined in inverse kinematics with the TF technique using Gd as host. The detection of coincident γ-rays was accomplished with very efficient Clover Ge detectors. Preliminary results of g-factors deduced for the 2+ an 4+ states at 935 keV and 1496 keV with mean lives τ=7.2(6) ps and 147(4) ps, respectively, are g(2+)=−0.183(20) and g(4+)=−0.64(26). These new data clearly indicate the dominance of d5/2 neutrons in the wavefunction and bear a similarity to 18O where two neutrons in the d5/2 shell determine the g-factors of the 2+ and 4+ states as well [2].
