Tilted Axis Cranking with Particle Number Projection — •D. Almehed, S. Frauendorf, and F. Dönau — FZ Rossendorf, Postfach 51 01 19, D-01314 Dresden

The Tilted Axis Cranking [1] (TAC) model represents the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory of the high-K bands, which permits the calculation of the energies and intraband transition probabilities. The TAC model has been applied to the high-K multi quasiparticle bands in 178,179W [2] where the transition from the paired to the unpaired state is found when breaking quasiparticle pairs. We have used the TAC model in combination with particle number projection to analyze the influence of dynamical pairing correlations in the high-K bands of 178W and their effect on the relative energy, angular momentum and γ-transition ratios. The calculations show that our model is able to reproduce the experimental [3] values of the relative energy as well as angular momentum and γ-transition ratios.
