Nuclear Breakup of Halo nuclei in the Serber model — •K. Hencken1, H. Esbensen2, and G. Bertsch31Universität Basel, Switzerland — 2Argonne National Laboratory, Argonne, USA — 3University of Washington, Seattle, USA

Measuring the breakup of halo nuclei through their nuclear interaction with light target nuclei is one of the possibilities to study their properties. In the recent past more detailed differential cross sections have been measured and analysed and it is of interest to see how they compare with theoretical calculations. The use of the Serber modell has been found to be rather successful to describe the breakup mechanism. We show total cross section as well as differential results for the two-neutron halo nuclei 6He and 11Li. We study also the effect of the nuclear interaction as well as the Coulomb-Nuclear interference in the Coulombexcitation of 8B.
