Recently the ground state hyperfine splitting of 207Pb81+ has been determined by precision laser spectroscopy in the heavy-ion storage ring ESR. Comparison with the theoretical predictions showed a relatively large deviation. This discrepancy might be caused by a lacking correction in the magnetic moment of 207Pb found in literature. A microscopic view of te magnetic moment distribution is taken in the dynamic correlation model. Here the single-particle harmonic oscillator states are modified by admixtures from energetically adjacent configurations. The influence of these admixtures is also visible in the value of the magnetic moment given by the procedure. With different spin-orbit terms added to the single particle state the effective nuclear moment deviates from the single particle model. To determine the deviation of this spin-orbit term from the empirical experimental value the energy spectrum of the 13/2+ and 11/2+ excited states has been calculated. The results confirm for the dynamic correlation model a magnetic moment smaller than the NMR result.
