The K-shell photoelectric effect for H-like U91+ ion is studied by its time reversed process occuring in relativistic collisions between bare uranium ions and low-Z target atoms. In this time reversed analogue of the photoelectric process, an electron is captured into the 1s state with the simultaneous emission of the photon (K-REC). The study of angular distribution of K-REC photons is presented. The observation of photons at angles close to 0 allowed us to identify the spin-flip contribution and to determine its relative strength. Moreover, by normalizing to the simultaneously measured Lyman α2 series transitions, the electron angular distribution for K-shell photoionization of H-like uranium is determined from the experimental data.
